(1922-2006)
Franco Matania was of Italian origin. He was a pupil of his uncle, the distinguished artist and illustrator, Fortunio Matania RI (1881-1963), and was an artist in all media, though mainly in Conte and Pastel. HIs drawings are technically outstanding, particularly his equestrian and figure studies, and have elegance and style. He was a member of the United Society of Artists, the Society of Graphic Fine Art and Associate of the Society of Equestrian Artists.
